The laboratory of optical spectroscopy of semiconductors (LASSEM) of the University of Milano-Bicocca (Milano, Italy) invites applications for a PostDoc Fellowship to start in spring/summer 2018.

The LASSEM group seeks to attract outstanding and highly motivated early-career scientists to engage in the EC H2020 FET Project “MicroSPIRE” for a period of two years. Prospective candidates must have a PhD degree in physics, materials/optical sciences or related disciplines. A work experience in the field of optical spectroscopy or photonics will be considered an asset. Good communication and technical writing skills are also important. Applicants must have the ability to supervise at the graduate student level and above.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute in an independent and creative way to the project MicroSPIRE. The candidate will lead research activities utilizing a broad array of experimental techniques enlisting photoluminescence, photocurrent, absorption and Raman spectroscopy. English will be the preferred langue in the work environment.
