Alberto Tosi, working on the electronic design of microSPIRE detectors, was invited to give a talk at the “QKD for space systems workshop” organized by Thales Alenia Space in Roma (Italy). New single-photon detectors with high detection efficiency in the 800 – 1600 nm range are required for space applications. microSPIRE could give a good contribution in this field.
